181/365 Lovely Rita

Lovely Rita meter maid
Nothing can come between us
When it gets dark I tow your heart away
Standing by a parking meter
When I caught a glimpse of Rita
Filling in a ticket in her little white book

Writing really seems to be performance art for Deloney. Not only will he abruptly stop a project, but he pulls it out from under you—no more access. So when he was done with his music project, Grace Notes (excellent title), it just disappeared from cyberspace, never to be seen again.

And now I find that The Danforth, née Fanny, is gone.

Where is he? He writes bits that make me drool.

His blogs are like time ticking away on a meter.

Starting another blog, don't know why. The link is on the profile page when you click my name.

Thanks for saying the things you said. I think this long hot summer is getting to me, though today it's quite nice. I've gotten away from the city and smog and humidity every few days. It's my first "vacation" in years.

Your friend pk is unbelievably good.

D: You are too, too good at this disappearing thing.

Looking forward to the new blog.

A vacation? Most excellent. I hope you're thoroughly enjoying it. My one true week off this year starts next Saturday.

Yes, pk is awesome. Hope you told her too.

Her? I had the impression pk was male.

You could be right. I actually don't know, and I have certainly guessed the sex wrong about various bloggers before. I am unreliable.

But I also think it's kinda cool if I can be fooled. It makes me examine my own assumptions. When saying something about pk once before, I think, I realized I didn't know and omitted a pronoun. I've just gotten sloppy.

how very droll it is to be talked about: I eat it up with a spoon: my latest 365 will solve the 'mystery', but there is a photo of me on mu comments, n'est-ce pas? That's right; I'm hiding my face with a photo of myself! Did Richard Thompson ever do 'Rita' at a gig, I wonder?

Ha! Once again I am so wrong. I think what I tend to do (I'm guessing here) is think that a blogger's voice reminds me of the voice or characteristics of a certain friend...then I automatically apply the sex of said friend to that blogger. A dangerous move.

Del, my memory is that when the music blog started, it took me awhile to figure out that Maureen was Maureen and that she wasn't a guy!

speaking of assumptions, I thought until this moment that deloney was one of us gals. Perhaps none of us are one of us gals after all.

It's because deloney is so close to delaney, and that's my niece.

and because i don't pay very close attention. obviously.

Bridgett: I am so glad to hear this, I can't tell you!

I was going to make a really bad joke about how Deloney should hook up with someone called Bannie and form a band....I wish i had now.

Mrs. S: I wish you had too.
