Just lift your head and let your feelings out instead

Yesterday the ashes of my 32-year-old cousin were interred at his father’s gravesite.
Eric worked in the film industry. It was a beautiful day in a beautiful cemetery in Mystic.
I kept expecting a psst!, then to look up and see Maude darting among the headstones.

So sorry to read about your cousin. You're a bit of a dark horse..eh...?
Thanks for the two sentence summation of my florid USA CHARACTER essay. I really laughed and quoted you (unattributed-such a devil-may-care cad)
I'm looking for an aaa... somewhat lighter blog voice...you might say.
Also- thanks for the Miles video. Saw him live once. He was quite scary, and not a nice man. Demons I suspect. Still that lyricism...
Good to make your aquaintence.
Bar Guy
Before I clicked on your link, I thought you were talking about this Maude, which would have been an even more surreal scene.
that is so sad and lovely : i almost wish i'd seen this music version first but i DEFINITELY don't have time and it would take over because like you my cultural life is indivisible from whatever i may take my real life to be...
lonerhino/bar guy: Looking forward to reading more of you... and thanks for the Miles story. Good to make your acquaintance too, and I hope you didn't mind appearing in a feature role in this blog.
SY: You are so gay. And I love that Maude too.
PK: Thanks for stopping by! And I'm not at all convinced I have time either...I fear I am about to miss a major deadline.
I missed this post - I guess I was really on a blog hiatus this summer.
Harold and Maude is one of my favorite movies.
Very sorry about your cousin.
