Sometimes one doesn’t want to jump on the bandwagon. One does not want to admit that one enjoys a song that enjoyed such vast popularity. But I can’t help it. I like Justin Timberlake and Timbaland’s “SexyBack.”
I don’t mind admitting that I’m a huge fan of The Office, both the British and American incarnations. So you’ll understand why I might like this particular video interpretation of SexyBack.
Their own video, of course, is pretty steamy.

1. This was the first time I heard this song. I always thought it was about a body part. Wrong again!
2. I have a theory that people born after 1960 have a gene that enables them to understand music videos. I lack this gene. Who are all those people with Justin Timberlake? How can he sing and chew gum at the same time? And who's taking care of the dog?
3. I liked the faux Scranton version better. Fun stuff!
So, do you prefer the American or British version?
If you're ever surfing youtube and find the full version of Handbags and Gladrags (the version that plays at the end of The Office - Brit version), not the Rod Stewart version, PLEASE let me know.
Gosh -- I used the word version a lot, didn't I?
Helen, now that I've seen a whole season of the British version, I'd have to say I think they're both hilarious. Which do you like best? (Have you watched any of the Brit Office yet?)
Susan: I liked the faux Scranton version better too. And I never could watch MTV for some reason...I found it utterly depressing. So it's possible I lack the gene too, although I can take videos in small doses.
H and mm: Not sure I can answer which I like better, as it's been a long time since I've seen the British version. (And it turns out I never saw the Christmas specials!) I was wary of an Americanized version, but they started by picking up direct story lines really well, and I think it's wonderful. I'm utterly attached to it.
I love "The Office." Love it...and that vid was hilarious.
Martian: Between The Office and Buffy, it is clear that you have excellent taste in television.
