Benny Goodman and His Orchestra playing this piece of music is one of my favorite things ever. It’s so primal. You’d think that alone would clue me in to the fact that Louis Prima wrote it. But I didn’t figure that out for years.
That was great! Never thought of it as primal, but you're absolutely right. And I didn't know Prima wrote it. The things I learn here...
Loved the images, too. Makes me want to go watch an old movie. When I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be like Carole Lombard. It's no wonder I'm not crazy about flying.
As a followup to Dan Waber’s x365 project, for which participants wrote about one person a day for a year, Lisa Otter’s starting a 365 project to blog a song a day (a musical memoir writing exercise). Her hub (and the project) is called Dancing about Architecture, based on the Elvis Costello quote: “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture—it’s a really stupid thing to want to do.” To join in, link to her blog. •
I really don’t have time to do this, so most entries will likely be the briefest of notes. • Or maybe I’ll last a day or two and drop out.

I love this piece too. Louis Prima is a god. He also wrote "Jump Jive An' Wail," performed here by the Brian Setzer Orchestra (with Prima himself!).
Which was my #66, my favorite ADD friend. But a review is NEVER a bad thing.
And I even commented on it. Geez, and I thought my ADD was getting better....
It's hard to just listen without moving. I should have closed the blinds and shut my office door...

Here is another neat version of the song.
