39/365 Living Room

Sometimes those musical snippets heard between NPR stories can haunt you. I think that’s where I first heard Paris Combo. Luckily, you can look up said snippets online.

As soon as I found out that the CD I wanted was out of print, I had to have it. (Have you noticed a pattern? I’m working on this.) I kept ordering it from places who assured me they could get it, but couldn’t. It took me 6 months.

But if you’re going to dub your own living room Martini Lounge, you better have some good lounge music.

Listening to this song, I had to run into the kitchen and grab some olives.
BTW in your honor I had my first real martini* two weekends ago. I felt so grown up sipping it at the bar, popping the giant olives into my mouth, flirting with my hubbie.

*not one of those Yubbie drinks they call martinis but a REAL martini (I did it dirty).

I meant yuppy, sorry Yubbie I didn't mean to insult you chick-o.

That was fun.

Although, the flooring was the same as that in a recurrent nightmare I had as a child, where I was in a room and the walls and ceiling were closing in on me.

(P.S. I love chocolate martinis; am I a yuppy? I would love the "yu" portion at least.)

LO: Glad it was a real one! Anytime I order a "sweet martini," I'm disappointed...with the exception of the chocolate martini, if it's clear (that's why it's good...the juxtaposition of something that looks like water with a mouthful of chocolate!). Wish I was man enough for the olive, but alas, I'm hopeless. I'm a twist gal.

Helen: Yeah, the floor was very Twin Peaks. I was expecting Michael J. Anderson to appear from behind the red curtain and start dancing.

I downloaded Firefox so I could leave blog comments. But now I find that Firefox is not equipped to let me watch videos. Sigh.

I remember once telling my children that life is a series of tradeoffs...

Susan: Aaaargh! I don't understand computers. I use Firefox, and I can watch videos. I'm on a Mac. But it seems like something else must be missing from your setup. Sadly, I'm too ignorant to be able to help.
