85/365 Big Spender

The minute you walked in the joint,
I could see you were a man of distinction,
A real big spender,
Good looking, so refined.
Say, wouldn’t you like to know
What’s going on in my mind?

One of the first slutty songs I ever learned as a child was that one from Sweet Charity—you know, “Big Spender.” I listened to the Shirley MacLaine movie soundtrack quite a bit, and this was definitely the tune to belt out. Fun, laughs, good times.

I'm glad I watched this before getting dressed for work. I think I'll wear sequins and a feather boa today instead of my usual boring office wear.

Damn I wished you'd called, Helen. I wore sequins and a feather boa today. We'll look ridiculous.

Ah, to be a sequined boa-ed fly on that wall.

I've been working since 6:30 this morning, am about to break for a workout, and then should really consider what to wear today, even in this home office. I may have to match you two just for solidarity's sake.

I think you should wear the sequins for your workout. And the boa.

Hm. A musical embarkation...
Not a bad idea. Just how far can we go with these 365's?

I'd tell ya a tough one. Emotion. 365 emotions. I'd like to see someone tackle that challenge!

Oh, thanks a lot for that suggestion, mm. Now I have some serious dry cleaning to take care of.

Preston: I'll await your lead on the 365 emotions thing. You may have just stumbled upon the impossible.

I've always loved Big Spender. The other song from that show that I adore (even though it's now horribly dated) is The Rhythm of Life. It's cheesy, but tons of fun.

It is fun to think back at all the songs that went over one's head when they were younger.

SY: I hadn't heard that one since I was a kid!

I'm a late arrival. Gotta tell you I sang my way through the lyrics you posted (sans sequins), and know for certain that the tune is going to stay in my head all day.

This is good. I was getting real tired of Foolish Games. Plus it was slowing me down. Big Spender will get me moving again.
