14/365 Bohemian Rhapsody

I was 13 years old and had never heard anything like this Queen release. I sucked down its operatic pathos like a tincupful of icy well water on a sweltering day. An eighth grader had just killed himself, something almost unheard of. Nothing really matters, Freddie crooned at the end, anyone can see.

I remember the first time I heard B.R. I was sitting outside the Jewel (a grocery store) waiting to pick my brother up from work. I didn't really like it then, but the older I get the more dear this song grows in my heart.

Indigo where is B.K.? I keep clicking on her blogs and nothing new shows up. If you see her at the bar tell her that her fan club awaits her.

my son got his mp3 player at 13. BR was preloaded on it, and it seemed to take him a while to figure out that we could hear him singing, even though he was wearing earbuds. Every once in a while, out of the blue, he'd start yelling,

"I see a little silhouette of a man
Scaramouche! Scaramouche! can you do the fandango..."

Then he'd shut up. And thanks to the earbuds, he couldn't hear us laughing at him.

LO: I sent BK an email. She's swamped with work, but I'm sure she'll come around soon. I've alerted her to fanbase and peer pressure.

MM: GREAT story. And thanks to cyberspace, he can't hear me either!

Wow, great post. I've always liked this song, you just cannot help singing along. (mm - my 14 year oldson does the same thing with his mp3 player - although he knows we can hear him he doesn't know how bad he sounds)
