OK, OK. It’s kinda pop. But I love this Proclaimers’ song. Ten summers ago, I threw Sunshine on Leith into the tape deck of a rental car in Scotland and drove with the windows wide open. Thrills.
But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door

I love how all the songs you love have men doing totally outrageous things in the name of love. It really shines a light deep into the depths of your mind.
Wow, and I just figured it was the beat or lyrics that made me laugh. But I do love that Citizen Cope song. Well, this sure gives me something to think about! (And what if the depth of my mind turns out to be pretty shallow?)
I love Benny & Joon - didn't remember that song being on it, but I've heard that song too. Thanks for posting this.
That wouldn't be good, because in that case your mind would be liable to be rather weedy and murky as well.
If you're a little bit drunk, this is, bar-none, hands-down, one of the greatest songs ever to dance to.
Eggsellent choice, IB. (My word verification today is fudsgup. Just thought you'd like to know.)
Helen: Sigh. It would explain a lot.
mm: I just wrote tomorrow's entry, and seriously, I thought you were replying to it. I forgot I hadn't posted it yet, as I so rarely write one ahead.
And yeah, I wanna know about fudsgup!
I agree with mm... maybe not dance, but this is such a great bar song.
There an old one by them called "Letter from America"...really good. There's probably something on Youtube but I won't post a link...although I faithfully remain
Deloney, the brown-headed cow-bird :-)
PS: it took me too long but I finally posted something under "U" in your Alphabird blog.
Deloney, aka BHC: I will be sure to check this out. I keep meaning to!
